Taylor Cocke is a writer, editor, producer and copywriter based out of Los Angeles.

Need something done?
I’m your dude.

Hey, who’s this guy?

What I’m looking for.

Hi! I’m Taylor Cocke, and you can see my job titles above this. Or on my Linkedin! That’s cool and all, but here’s where I’m really coming from:

I’m a creative who has spent more than 15 years in the video game industry, with a vast array of types of experience under my belt. I began my career as a critic, expanded to script writing for YouTube and Twitch, got real good at that, then decided to try my hand at video production, which also turned out to be a blast. Somewhere in there, I did PR and covered esports for a living.

I’m a writing and production chameleon, able to take on any challenge and match the needs of those around me. Need someone to manage a big video project? I’m on it. Need some copywriting for your brand? I’ve got you there, too. Need someone to tackle the heavy lifting of a script for a game show you’re working on? I’ll research the hell out of your hosts and contestants, and make sure the script is right for them.

Basically, you name it in the media, I’ve done it.

And now, I’d like to do what I do, for you!

I’m looking to expand into my next role and find a new adventure! I have a long background in working with brands and creating content that caters directly to the exact audience you are looking for.

I want to work for YOU, so find my contact info all over on the top of the page! Or, just email me from this link. That works too.

My Work

As a Producer

These are just examples, more than happy to provide a lot more!

In partnership with Fandom, I produced a collaboration livestream between popular rapper Offset and FaZe Swagg, pitting them in a match of Madden for bragging rights. The activation included an Instagram-first promotion video, which I wrote and helped produce.

For Red Bull Gaming, I spearheaded a collaboration with Panda Global to create a data-driven narrative series that garnered over 2 million views across its episodes.

As a Writer

I have been writing professionally for 15 years, so I’ve written about just about everything. Here are a few of my favorite pieces, though!

World of Warcraft Classic Hardcore made me fall in love with leveling all over again

I’m a big fan of MMORPGs, and have been a big fan of World of Warcraft for a long time, so I was stoked to get the opportunity to write about them for the first time in a long time for GamesRadar, one of the earliest publications I wrote for, after a long hiatus. I love this piece, and hope you do too!

Saying farewell to PUBG’s starter island

Polygon has long been one of my favorite places to write, and this piece is a great example of why. They’re flexible, allow for all sorts of perspectives on games, and let me toy with their world just enough to create something fun.

Prank channels on YouTube should take a lesson from Jackass

I also regularly wrote about online media, particularly its place in the overall media landscape. Here’s one of my favorite pieces I wrote about the Logan Paul controversy a few years back and how it relates to Jackass. This one garnered a lot of attention and good conversation!

As a member of the Red Bull Gaming team, I was the man on the ground for the run of show, all interstitial content, and much more for Red Bull Kumite, a live fighting game tournament hosted in Las Vegas. This was a massive undertaking and I could not be more proud of our team.

As a Script Writer

If I listed everything I’ve written, you’d never be able to watch them all. Here’s a few highlights!

When Jirard “The Completionist” Khalil was launching his New Game Plus series, I wrote about a dozen episodes for him. Jirard’s the best, and it was an absolute honor to have my name beside his on this show.

This is another example of my ability to write to the voice of my host. I love this episode, and hope you do, too!

I was ecstatic when I was approached to write the Intel Creator Challenge. I love to watch game shows, and love to write them even more. Plus, I got to flex my PC building knowledge a bit, and that’s always fun.

While the episodes have sadly been scrubbed off the internet, I was the head writer for The Download, a thrice-weekly games and entertainment news show on the now-defunct VENN. I had an absolute blast writing for some of the best hosts I have ever worked with, and continue to work with several of them to this day!

Hit me up. (This is a link to my email address, just FYI)
